An agency specialising in training and providing security services is a private security agency. Nowadays, many private security agencies are established to cater for the security needs of individuals and businesses. In India, all the activities and operations of the various private security agencies come under the control of the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act 2005. PSARA license is mandatory for the institutional supply of security guards. The Department of Home Affairs issues a PSARA licenseafter due upholding the application submitted by the applicant.

The following process in obtaining a PSARA license is the applicant should enter into a Memorandum of understanding MOU with a certified institute eligible to provide training to the security guards as per the PSARA rules. The respective governments should acknowledge the training institute.
Fill out the online application with all the necessary information about the Agency, including details about the security personnel and equipment with the respective state’s controlling authority. Each state has a separate authority to take care of the PSARA licence.
The Chhattisgarh Police will verify the online submitted information and Documents and approve the PSARA license if everything is satisfied under the Act.
The online submitted application will be processed after getting the No objection certificate from the appropriate police authorities.
As per the PSARA Act, 2005, the license is valid only for 1 year from the date of issuing. The private agencies can renew the license 3 months before the license expiry based on their requirements.
Section 13 of the PSARA Act, 2005, talks about the conditions of the suspension and cancellation of PSARA licenses. The controlling authority can cancel or suspend the license for the following reasons.
